Mexican national Fernanda Lira, born 1995, started playing golf at age 7. Following a successful amateur career where she competed in several AJGA events in the U.S. including winning The Oaks Course Classic, she attended University of Central Arkansas. She graduated and turned pro in 2018 and gained Symetra (now Epson) Tour exempt status in 2019.
In 2021 she won the FireKeepers Casino and Hotel Championship as well as the Mountain Ranch Championship.
